All I Needed to Know I Learned From “MORK and MINDY”

Before “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “Good Will Hunting” there was Mork and Mindy.

Robin Williams plays the role of Mork from Ork. His job: study what it means to be an earthling. He takes a very literal approach to human interaction and often what he thinks will be the anticipated outcome turns out to be something completely different – sound familiar?

Mork and Mindy is an amazing template for human learning. Imagine exploring everything from love, trust, “white” lies, charity, taking risks, and cohabiting with another human. Mork learns a new lesson (usually the hard way) and then at the end of each episode he reports back to his boss Orson back on Ork to recap all the human learning.

It’s like watching live-action Warner Bros. Looney Toons. There something for everyone!
